Peter Fabiano was woken by the sound of his front doorbell ringing. Getting out of bed, he went downstairs, took the bowl of candy, and answered the door. Smiling, he said, “It’s a little late for this kind of thing, isn’t it?” What happened next would become one of the most infamous crimes of the past 67 years.
